Springboks Dillyn Leyds and Raymond Rhule starred in the Barbarians' entertaining 35-31 win over a New Zealand B side on Sunday.
The dynamic duo from La Rochelle were included in the exciting Barabians matchday squad thanks to a break in the Top 14, which returns to action at the end of the month.
Leyds started at fullback, while Rhule came off the bench. The former Stormers star had several key moments in defence against a New Zealand outfit eager to run the ball, while also providing a distribution option for the Barbarians.
Over in Premiership Rugby, Springbok scrumhalf Ivan van Zyl helped Saracens to a high-scoring 45-39 victory over Northampton Saints. At the other end of the park, Springbok hot stepper Courtnell Skosan and former SA U20 star Juarno Augustus played a full 80 minutes for the Saints.Former SA U20 captain Hanro Liebenberg led a spirited Leicester Tigers outfit to a narrow 19-18 defeat to Bath, who scored a try in the 81st minute to snatch a memorable victory.
Finally, former South Africa 'A' loose forward Ruan Ackermann captained Gloucester in their 21-27 loss at home to the Newcastle Falcons.
