The Bulls Daisies will be hunting for a full house of points when they take on rivals, the Golden Lions in the 2024 Women’s Premier Division round Jukskei Derby. The two teams will meet on Saturday 01 June at the Alberton Rugby Club.
Kick-off in the South of Gauteng is set for 14h30.
The Daisies still top the log standings on a superior points difference after their round six loss in the Cape and Hayden Groepes’ chargers are looking to open some distance to their rivals once more.
“Pressure is a point of privilege, which is why we do what we do. We have a great opportunity to respond this weekend and prove to ourselves first that we still have the same determination as we did before and challenge anyone who stands between us and winning the league,” says Groepes.
“We visit a team that will have prepared well and has a structured system which isn’t always easy to try break down. However, we are equally prepared for the fight and it should be another good game of rugby in Alberton” concludes the Daisies mentor.
Sanelisiwe Charlie, Xolelwa Diliza and Asithandile Ntoyanto combine in the front with Busisiwe Crafford pairing up with Anathi Qolo at lock. Behind them will be skipper, Lusanda Dumke and Vainah Ubisi who shifts from her usual lock role to flank. Faith Tshauke starts at eight, completing a nimble but power-packing forward ensemble.
Scrumhalf, Unam Tose combines with Naima Hlatshwayo (flyhalf) at halfback.
Behind the duo will be Chantel Dikgale at left wing and Patience Mokone splitting defenders on the right-hand side of the park. Jakkie Cilliers combines with Unathi Mali at centre, while Marlize de Bruin provides cover at fullback.
The impact squad will see Doreen Mkhabela, Yonela Ngxingolo, Pearl Mhelembe, Ziyanda Ngohlekana, Sophy Mashapa, Lesego Mdhluli, Sesihle Maguga and Zintle Nonkasana all on standby to do duty as the competition enters its second half of the season.
