Wolaitta Dicha beat Wolkite City 2-1 in the second game of the day.
Whether they are called Ethiopia Nigd Bank, Commercial Bank of Ethiopia or CBE, everyone now knows them as they lead the Ethiopia Premier League.
It was an explosive first half with CBE not leaving anyone in doubt about their ambitions this season. Hambericho though stood firm and held them goalless for most of the first half.
However, Bashiru Umar broke the deadlock in the 45th minute to give CBE a 1-0 lead.
Bereket Gizaw made it 2-0 in the 80th minute to hand them all three points and extend their lead at the top of the log by four points as they moved up from 20 to 23 points.
Wolaitta Dicha, meanwhile, scored in the 35th minute of the second game to go 1-0 up through Biniam Fikre and they led Wolkite City at the break.
Wolkite City equalised just three minutes into the second half through Abubeker Sani's 48th-minute strike.
Wolaitta though got back in front on 78 minutes when Abenet Demissie scored to give them a 2-1 win which moves them up to to seventh spot on the log.
