With the curtain drawn on the 2025/26 season, Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed the departure of coaches Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze, whose two-year contracts with the club have come to an end.
Ben Youssef arrived at Naturena at the start of the 2024/25 campaign, with Kaze joining a few months later in October. Both initially served as assistants to former head coach Nasreddine Nabi, who left the Club in October 2025.
When Nabi departed, the duo stepped into the hot seat, guiding Amakhosi to a much-improved 54 points in the league — the second-best tally achieved by Chiefs in the past eleven years. Their continental journey was cut short on goal difference, narrowly missing out on the CAF Confederation Cup knockout phase despite finishing Group D with 10 points.
Across the 2025/26 season, Ben Youssef and Kaze led Chiefs in 39 matches spanning the Betway Premiership, CAF Confederation Cup, Carling Knockout Cup, and Nedbank Cup. Under their stewardship, the team recorded 19 wins, 11 draws, and 9 defeats — a campaign marked by resilience and progress.
Meanwhile, conditioning coach Majdi Safi has also parted ways with the Club following the conclusion of his contract at season’s end.
Chiefs expressed gratitude to the trio for their dedication and contribution, wishing them success in their future endeavours. The Club added that further announcements will be made in the coming weeks as preparations intensify for the new season. "We would like to extend our gratitude to the coaches for their dedication and contribution, and wish them all the best in their future."
