BetKing Ethiopia Premier League Champions St George will face CAF Champions League defending champions Al Ahly of Egypt in the next round after overcoming KMKM of Zanzibar in the preliminary round.
The Horsemen defeated KMKM of Zanzibar with a score of 5-2 over the two legs.
In the second-leg match held at Abebe Bikila Stadium on Sunday, St George won 3-1.
KMKM had taken the lead earlier in the match, but Dawit Tefera, Nathnael Zeleke and Ammanuel Arebo netted the goals for St George.
St George had won the first leg away, 2-1.
Next up for St George is Al Ahly.
The first leg will be played between 15-17 September and the second leg will be held two weeks later.
St George will play their first match at home and will hope to get a good result against a formidable foe.
