It’s day two of the Rugby World Cup Sevens and it makes sense that the longest day will see the most action.

The tournament is now well underway and we’re already into the business end of the competition.

While the smaller nations will fight out for the Bowl and other placings, the bigger sides go head to head in a knockout quarterfinal round later in the day.

Cato Louw leads us into the second day with her scene setter here.

And then there are the fans. A sold-out stadium is expected today and 60 000 dressed-up fans are already on their way to the fan walk, and set to descend on the stadium to make it another day of fun and rugby.

While the sun has kept its distance this morning, the overcast weather has made it pleasant and at least will keep the sunscreen away for a while.

And through the day both our cameramen Ken Belter and Cato Louw will be heading out to capture fans enjoying the day.

Here Cato found some early morning fans already enjoying the action.

Ricky Schroeder joined us today to start his journey around the stadium by getting to the Gwijo Squad to join them in song as they became part of the ever growing crowd

Ricky then went deep under cover into the crowd and found more than a few passionate fans in the process

Chris Dry, the former Blitzbok has been on the mike in doing the announcing duties at the stadium, and was enjoying it when Ricky caught up with him.

Keep checking back as we bring you more action - on and off the field - during day two of the Rugby World Cup.
