John Dobson’s plans to keep building on the success of the DHL Stormers’ Vodacom United Rugby Championship win took another positive step forward on Wednesday with the news that inspirational loose forward Hacjivah Dayimani has extended his contract with the franchise until at least 2025.
With depth a key element of success in the URC, the decision for the talented Dayimani to stay in the Cape seems to be a no-brainer, but it also speaks of a very happy team environment where the player wanted to stay.
Born in Cape Town, Dayimani made a triumphant return to the city last season and is well-known for continuing the celebration after his side won the URC by staying in his kit for a number of days afterwards.
This season he has again been a vital cog in the Stormers' attack out wide and has helped the team keep their unbeaten run at home with his interlinking play between forwards and backs.

Head Coach John Dobson said that it is great to know that Dayimani will form part of the future growth of the team.
"Hacjivah is a special player who brings something completely unique to our team, so we couldn't be happier to have him extend his contract with us.
"He keeps everyone on their toes on and off the field and is already a crowd favourite at DHL Stadium, so we expect that to grow even further in the seasons ahead.
Dayimani said that he wants to keep developing his game with the DHL Stormers.
"The team environment here is incredible, everyone involved is able to be themselves and express themselves, which is really important to me.
"There is still so much that we can achieve together and I really want to be part of that, so I couldn't be happier to extend my contract," he said.
