TRY, BULLS, VAN STADEN. Bulls 29-14 Lions. The scrum results in an other penalty as the Lions end up with an elbow on the ground. The ball comes out but Le Roux's pass in intercepted. They come back for a tap and go and Marco van Staden goes over.
Bulls are on attack and the Lions concede an offside at a ruck as their feet aren't behind the line. They opt to scrum. 5m out and under the poles.
CONVERSION, BULLS, KRIEL. Bulls 24-14 Lions. From out wide Kriel adds the extra points.
TRY, BULLS, MOODIE. Bulls 22-14 Lions. Too easy for the Bulls as they win a scrum and put it through the hands. They have a one man advantage and Moodie canters over in the corner.
A long delay as Gumede appears to have issues with his boot. the medics are out there but it is all a bit laboured...
We are back underway again as Kriel kicks off for the Bulls. On as a sub, Manuel Rass knocks on and the Bulls are on attack immediately.
HALF TIME. The TMO is called in to see if the ball has been grounded by the Bulls. Gumede is over the line, but Van der Merwe has done very well to stop him getting it down. The referee blows for the half.
YELLOW CARD, LIONS, HORN. The hooter has gone long ago as the Bulls win a penalty. There's a great line-break from Gans but he is held up just short. Quan Horn comes in from the side and delays the recycle. He is shown the card.
Just too many errors still. This time it is Papier who spills the ball after a quick lineout opens huge space for the Bulls. That was a bad mistake.
It's all got a bit messy as both sides make too many 50/50 passes. They are forcing the offloads. First there is a scrum to the Lions after a Le Roux forward pass and then a scrum to the Bulls after the Lions spill it.
CONVERSION, LIONS, LOMBARD. Bulls 17-14 Lions. Another tight angle and another excellent kick for the two points.
TRY, LIONS, PJ BOTHA. Bulls 17-12 Lions. Henco van Wyk gets the ball on the wing and goes on a marauding run. He is a powerful unit! He is eventually tackled but the ball is recycled quickly and with a huge overlap out wide Botha is over to score.
YELLOW CARD, BULLS, GANS. The quick tap that led to the try saw Stedman Gans failing to retreat and tackling the ball carrier. It didn't stop the try but it was cynical and illegal and he is gone for 10 minutes.
CONVERSION, LIONS, LOMBARD. Bulls 17-7 Lions. Excellent conversion from a tight angle.
TRY, LIONS, VAN WYK. Bulls 17-5 Lions. It is all very open as the ball is kicked down field to Edwill van der Merwe. He runs it back and chips ahead. It's a lucky bounce and he regathers before being tackled. the Bulls infringe and from the quick tap Van Wyk crashes over.
Lions break blindside but Lombard is tackled into touch.
It looks like Moodie may be about to run clear for a fourth try, but the pass that sets him on his way was forward and the referee blows for a scrum.
CONVERSION, BULLS, KRIEL. Bulls 17-0 Lions. He has missed the first two conversions but this is an easier kick and over it goes.
TRY, BULLS, DE KLERK. Bulls 15-0 Lions. First scrum of the game is a big one as the Bulls shove the Lions back. Barrett-Theron plays advantage, but the Bulls don't need it. It's great front-foot ball. Le Roux times his pass to Devin Williams perfectly. The winger is through a gap, chips ahead and De Klerk gathers to score.
TRY, BULLS, LE ROUX. Bulls 10-0 Lions. A frenetic passage of play comes to an end with a huge 50/22 kick from Devon Williams. It's a great attacking platform and Willie le Roux canters through untouched to score. He ran a great angle from deep.
TRY, BULLS, MOODIE. BULLS 5-0 LIONS. Bulls win an early penalty for hands in the ruck. Willie Le Roux sets up the lineout. The ball goes through a handful of phases and then Le Roux swings out the big wide pass where Moodie steps inside twice to score.
Referee Aimee Barrett-Theron blows her whistle and the game is underway in a humid Pretoria. Quan Horn the Lions 15 gets things going.
