FULL TIME, OSPREYS 19-66 SHARKS. Superb performance from the Ospreys, while the Sharks just couldn't slot the pieces together. A good night for the home side who pick up their second win with a solid performance of attack and defence, but tonight was a night of frustration that the Sharks will want to see the back of ASAP. Thanks for sharing the action with us and enjoy the rest of your sporting weekend…

The Sharks win a free-kick after the Ospreys scum collapses, and the Sharks have a run… but can't break through yet again. Ospreys to feed the scrum near the Sharks 22...
76’
Commentary
Ospreys win the ball from the drop out and press hard at the Sharks line… they run to the left but it's just behind Nagy who can't get hold of it and the attack is broken down 10m short of the Sharks line.
74’
Commentary
MISSED! Incredibly Walsh pulls his kick every so slightly and it's missed!
73’
Commentary
And it goes from worse to worse for the Sharks, who are penalised just outside their 22… and the Ospreys will take the kick for points…

Ospreys push up, there's a crunching tackle and the handbags come out as a couple of players grab collars, but the ref calms the waters.

… but Sharks steal the ball, work up to inside the Ospreys 22…but they lose the ball and it's an Ospreys scrum inside their 22…

Sharks now on the attack, driving hard at the Ospreys, but they are holding them off well, which is frustrating the Sharks.
53’
Commentary
The Sharks will be disappointed not to have pushed over for the try, with time quickly running out. They will definitely be keen to finish this tour and be able to get a few home matches in.

Kick Off
KICK-OFF! We're underway with the second half of Ospreys against the Sharks in the URC!
40’
Half Time
HALF-TIME, OSPREYS 19-5 SHARKS. Ospreys have taken the match away after a strong start by the Sharks. The Sharks showed some exciting attacking but couldn't capitalise on it, while the Ospreys have lifted their game and did superbly to take advantage of the one man advantage just before the half. The Sharks look like they have lots of running in them, but right now the Ospreys are looking really in control of this match…
40’
Conversion
CONVERSION, OSPREYS, WALSH! 19-5; Walsh makes no mistake with the conversion, again from about just 10m to the right of the posts.

39’
Try
TRY, OSPREYS, WILLIAMS! 17-5; TMO concurs… brilliant opportunistic try from the Ospreys.
39’
Commentary
DRAMA! Ospreys chip forward, the Sharks fail to collect, it's hacked into the in-goal area, the Sharks don't seem to have dotted it down… TMO will judge…
39’
Yellow Card
YELLOW CARD, SHARKS, JANSE VAN RENSBURG. Possibly unlucky because of how low the defender came in, but the Sharks man accepts his fate and offers and apology to the ref and his opponents…but it is deemed NOT a dangerous foul.

Yellow Card

28’
Try
TRY, OSPREYS, NAGY! 10-5; INCREDIBLE! Sharks drive hard, there's a grubber to go past Nagy… but the Osprey sub gets his body in the way, blocks it, gathers it quickly and sprints from inside his half untouched all the way through to the line for the score!
26’
Commentary
Sharks again running the ball well, Ospreys up strong in attack… but there's a flick on pass that tries to find Buthelezi on the wing, but the ball bounces badly and goes out of play.

24’
Commentary
Sharks run the ball at pace, Ospreys look stretched… Nagy positions himself for the intercept, can't hold it… but the ref rules that he went for it with two hands so it was a genuine attempt to catch… so no yellow cards just yet!
22’
Commentary
Morgan-Williams launches a high ball from the base of the Ospreys maul high into the Sharks half… but the Sharks take control of the ball, drive back at the Ospreys and win the scrum on the halfway line.
20’
Commentary
Ospreys with the ball driving forward but the Sharks hold them at bay inside their own half.
18’
Commentary
SUBSTITUTION, OSPREYS. Williams hobbles off, his leg and probably his hamstring clearly causing him huge pain. Nagy comes on in his place.
16’
Commentary
Williams slams his conversion from 10m to the right of the poles… but it slips just to the side of the right-hand post… how could he miss that? He is walking tenderly… perhaps he pulled a muscle in taking the kick.

Full Time
TRY, OSPREYS, WALSH! 5-5; After a prolonged period of pushing and pushing on the line, the Ospreys flick the ball wide, Walsh claims it and side-steps over for the try, with a big gap to run through.
14’
Commentary
Ospreys inside the Sharks 22, driving to the 5m… and they are pushing and prodding the Sharks line looking for their second opening score (if you know what I mean!).
13’
Commentary
DRAMA! The TMO has called the ref back and after watching the footage of that try they have ruled it out for not touching down effectively! Wow… would have been good to do that before the conversion, methinks!
11’
Commentary
Williams strikes his conversion well from 10m in from the left touchline… but the ball just veers off to the right to squeeze past the posts.
10’
Try
TRY, OSPREYS, LEWIS! 5-5; The pressure told on the Sharks defence, with the Ospreys bundling themselves over the line near the left touchline for an equalising score.

Another penalty for the Ospreys and the referee has had enough and has a chat with both captains. Ospreys kick to touch on the Sharks 5m…

6’
Commentary
Ospreys push forward and into the Sharks half and win a penalty, which is kicked to touch for a lineout.
4’
Commentary
Bosch can't covert the try from up against the right touchline, but the Sharks will be feeling good after this start.
3’
Try
TRY, SHARKS, BUTHELEZI! 5-0; Another sharp move down the right wing from the Sharks, with Werner Kok drawing the Ospreys fullback to send Buthelezi over for the opening score.

GREAT BREAK down the blindside from the Sharks and they burst into the 22 but are dragged down short of the line. Superb early attacking play.

The Sharks have won one, lost three and drawn one of their last five URC matches. They ended last season with a 43-33 home win over Benetton, a 22-22 home draw with Munster and a 35-5 away loss to Leinster. This season they have started with two losses on the bounce!

The Sharks have won the last two matches between the two sides. They won 27-13 away to the Ospreys in 2021, and last season they beat them 25-10 at home.

Commentary
The Sharks' season kicked-off with a 34-21 away loss to Munster. The hosts scored a 77th minute try which they didn't convert, after which Aphelele Fassi scored an 81st minute try for the Sharks which Curwin Bosch converted… but there was still plenty of daylight in the margin of defeat. Last week the Sharks suffered a heavier 34-13 away loss to Leinster, who ran out five tries to the one from the Sharks. Richardson scored the Sharks' first try in the 79th minute, which Bosch converted… only for Leinster to run in an 80th minute try (converted) to really knock the wind out of the Sharks' sails.

Commentary
The Ospreys lost their opener 34-26 away to Connacht, a 75th minute converted try by Rhys Davies making the result seem closer than it was. The following Saturday the Ospreys put matters right with a 34-31 home win over Zebre, who scored and converted on 80 minutes to leave the scoreline looking squeakier than it really was.

The Ospreys are ninth on the table with six points and a points difference of 5… but the visitors the Sharks will be hoping that the saying "the only way is up" will work for them tonight. The Sharks' two losses in a row leave them second from the bottom in 15th place on 0 points and with a points difference of -34.

Commentary
Just two matches into the 2023/24 United Rugby Championship and tonight's combatants are both in need of a win. Hosts the Ospreys have one win from their two matches, while the Sharks are winless after two.
