FULL TIME: BENETTON 15-10 LIONS The Lions attacked for four minutes before Sirgel spilled it in contact to end this match at last. Benetton hang on and ensure that only one away win was recorded in this round of URC. The Lions have lost all three of their matches this season.

Horn has another brainfade as he kicks the ball away with time running out and the Lions then give away a penalty as well. Benetton have a go from the lineout but then they knock it on to give the Lions a last gasp scrum.

Horn is unhappy with the touch judge's estimation of his free kick to touch but the Lions should have been looking to keep the ball in play here.

The Lions have to start from deep from a lineout after giving up a turnover and they make a mess of their backline move to cough up a scrum ten inside their own half.

Umaga cannot convert but Benetton have the lead.

TRY, BENETTON, MENDY, 15-10: Mendy is in at the corner for a great score.

Its Benetton who surge forward now with renewed urgency and the Lions look to be fading.

The Lions send up a hoist which bounces into touch close to halfway where Benetton will feed a lineout to restart play.

The restart goes straight into touch and the Lions can feed the scrum on halfway.

CONVERSION, LIONS, NOHAMBA, 10-10: Nohamba converts the try and levels the scores.

TRY, LIONS, NTLABAKANYE, 10-8: Ntalabakanye proves unstoppable close to the line after waves and waves of Lions attack.

Nohamba puts a pinpoint penalty kick down deep into the Benetton 22 to set up the attacking lineout.

The Lions threaten to find fluidity in attack thanks to some poor kicking from Benetton but they can't seem to find a way through with ball in hand and keep going back to the kick.

PENALTY, BENETTON, UMAGA, 10-3: Umaga slots from straight in front.

Benetton finally build some momentum and threaten the Lions line but they are stopped illegally.

Umaga has another chance to punish the Lions as they reach past the ball in trying to steal and he kicks up into the Lions 22. Benetton have the attacking lineout feed.

The Lions approach the Benetton 22 in possession which is their queue to concede a penalty at the breakdown which allows Benetton to kick and take play back into the Lions' half.

Another uninspired kicking battle ends when Benetton block off the Lions chasers, while the Lions are lucky not to be penalised for being in front of the kicker.

Benetton look for space out on the wide blindside but Mendy can't hold the pass from Uren. The Lions have a scrum feed and a chance to perhaps spark this match into life.

Horn tries to get the intercept on a looping pass but he drops it and Benetton have a scrum ten inside the Lions half.

Hendrikse drills a clearance into touch but he doesn't get the distance he would like and Benetton can attack from a lineout about ten outside the Lions 22.

Iachizzi has gone in to a tackle in poor position and taken a knock to the head. No foul play and we restart with a scrum. Not sure why this already stop-start game was stopped for that.

Benetton leave a hoist for Louw to gather and had he held it the Lions skipper might have been in under the sticks but he drops it forward. Benetton try to counter but fling a pass into touch and the referee brings it back for their scrum.

Louw gets onto the ball and wins a penalty that gets the Lions out of trouble. Benetton were slow to clean out and made to pay.

Albornoz kicks onto the Lions who spill the ball into touch on their own 22. Benetton will have an attacking lineout to start their half in earnest. Landsberg is injured after spilling the ball and Alberts comes on for the Lions.

HALF TIME: BENETTON 7-3 LIONS The Lions can't mount another attack before the break and neither can Benetton. Neither side being able to sustain attack has been the marker of the first half. Benetton have come closest but have lacked ruthlessness. The Lions meanwhile have been plagued by errors.

The Lions maul is stopped but Nohamba wrestles the ball out and the attack continues. The Lions seal off on attack though and that will give Benetton a penalty and they tap and go in their own 22.

The Lions' Horn and Benetton's Smith both have to go off for HIA's and the Lions kick a penalty into the Benetton 22.

Smith is down and play has been stopped. The Lions had the ball and there hasn't been word on foul play from the TMO. The Lions will feed a scrum on halfway.

Izekor gets through but then gets a bit of white line and doesn't give the pass that would have created a certain try. Benetton pile in from the side and give away a penalty.

Fourie stretches for the line but he has a second go at it and gets penalised for his desperation. Benetton get another escape.

The referee wants to give Benetton a penalty at the scrum but his AR puts him right and the Lions get away from their 22 again.

Padovani doesn't kick out from his free kick off the mark as the Lions end another attack with a poor kick. The kick tennis resumes until the Lions shoot themselves in the foot with a forward pass on their own 22. Benetton will have a great attacking platform from the scrum.

Albornoz has kicked a penalty dead as he looked for the five metre lineout from halfway. Van Der Merwe had challenged Uren in the air to give away the kick. Now the Lions have a scrum that straddles the halfway line.

The ball squirts out of a Benetton maul, but they react quickly to retain the pill. However, a deep kick sees Horn mark and his kick is a big one and takes Benetton back to 12 inside their own half.

Horne bursts away from the scrum but his run is the only one of multiple phases to see the Lions gain ground and they eventually give up a cheap breakdown penalty and Benetton get out of jail free.

Horn gets luck as a pretty aimless and badly chased kick is spilled by Albornoz. The Lions will have an attacking scrum on the Benetton 22.

Nohamba kicks a long box kick into touch just inside the Benetton half where the hosts feed a skew lineout. The Lions take a scrum.

PENALTY, LIONS, HENDRIKSE, 7-3: Hendrikse puts the Lions on the board.

The Benetton jacklers come in but the tackler hasn't rolled away and the Lions have a penalty in range.

The Lions lose their lineout but do well at the breakdown soon after and another penalty allows them to set up a lineout on the Benetton 22 and maul.

Stellar defensive work from Lions centre Van Wyk shuts down another dangerous looking Benetton movement. The Penalty kick takes play back into the Benetton half.

The Lions lose the ball on the ground in contact just inside the Benetton half. The Lions inability to keep hold of the ball is seriously hampering their ability to get into this game.

The Lions get the penalty at lineout time with Landsberg played in the air and they kick up towards halfway where they have another lineout.

Padovani's eyes light up as a grubber threatens to sit up for him but it bounces into touch and the Lions have a defensive lineout in their own 22.

The Lions get a scrum penalty and go to the lineout in the Benetton 22. However the Lions knock-on in their next attack and Benetton will have to clear their scrum to get out of trouble.

Smith knocks on as he tries to gather a deflected loose ball, and we will have the first scrum of the match with the Lions to feed.

CONVERSION, BENETTON, ALBORNOZ, 7-0: That's a great kick from Albornoz and that will give Benetton an extra lift.

TRY, BENETTON, FEKITOA, 5-0: Fekitoa opens his Benetton account with a strong run and finish that also opens the scoring.

The Lions get pinned for holding on in attack again and once again the hosts can shift play into the other half.

The match settles into a pattern of kicking, and eventually Benetton stick it out close to halfway. The Lions feed the lineout just inside the Benetton half.

KICK-OFF: The Lions kick off deep and pilfer the ball but then they knock on and play the ball on the ground at the next breakdown giving Benetton a cheap exit.
