FULL TIME: SOUTH AFRICA 31-27 NEW ZEALAND
South Africa showed terrific composure to snatch the impetus back. Feinberg-Mngomzezulu was brilliant with the boot and in open play. They powered back from ten points down to claim a 31-27 win that will inspire a nation anew.
Feinberg-Mgomezulu misses the penalty goal attempt.
CONVERSION, SOUTH AFRICA, FEINBERG-MNGOMZEULU, 31-27:
The conversion is good from the Springbok flyhalf.
TRY, SOUTH AFRICA, WILLIAMS, 29-27:
New Zealand cave under the pressure of conceding these setpieces and Williams snipes to score.
Barrett finds touch on the ten to end a long kicking battle with the Springboks probably happiest with that.
CONVERSION, SOUTH AFRICA, FEINBERG-MNGOMEZULU, 24-27:
The conversion is good and the gap is closed to three.
TRY, SOUTH AFRICA, SMITH, 22-27:
Smith drives over and scores and the game is back on.
YELLOW CARD, NEW ZEALAND, TU'UNGAFASI:
Tu’ungafasi collapses the maul and gets binned for it.
South Africa go to the corner with a penalty and need to get their lineout working.
New Zealand feed the lineout inside their own 22 and they have to be the ones to dictate the pace of the game now.
A couple of crucial turnovers gets the Springboks onto the attack. They can try to find Kolbe out wide and do so with a kick ahead.
Fassi sparks a counter but his kick ahead doesn't get gathered in and then they kick a grubber into touch five out. New Zealand win a penalty straight after the lineout though and get a free exit again.
South Africa knock on in attack and that might be the crucial error. McKenzie clears to touch and South Africa have to start again from halfway.
Mckenzie cannot convert and Barrett then kicks straight to touch. South Africa lose the lineout but then a kicking battle ends with a knock on from Jordan on his own 22.
TRY, NEW ZEALAND, CLARKE, 17-27:
Clarke dashes in at the corner as the Springboks run out of defenders.
South Africa knock on as they approach halfway and New Zealand have the scrum feed tight to the touchline with their backline to the right.
PENALTY, SOUTH AFRICA, FEINBERG-MNGOMEZULU, 17-22:
The penalty trading continues and now South Africa close the gap again.
PENALTY, NEW ZEALAND, MCKENZIE, 14-22:
New Zealand take the three right back and take control of the match.
PENALTY, SOUTH AFRICA, FEINBERG-MNGOMEZULU, 14-19:
South Africa accept the three in the end.
South Africa turn it over early off the kick off and attack the All Blacks line with advantage. They cannot use it and set up a lineout five out.
CONVERSION, NEW ZEALAND, MCKENZIE, 11-19:
McKenzie slots the conversion.
TRY, NEW ZEALAND, B BARRETT, 11-17:
Barrett gets the intercept and sprints away for the cheapest of tries.
The second half is underway and New Zealand get a decent exit up to the ten metre inside their own half.
HALF TIME: SOUTH AFRICA 11-12 NEW ZEALAND
New Zealand were delighted to get off the park with the Springboks threatening. It was a tight and tense half and errors cost both teams. This match still hangs in the balance at the break.
South Africa try for the drop late one but it goes wide. South Africa send up the hoist after the restart and New Zealand kick it out. South Africa have the lineout on the All Blacks 22.
PENALTY, SOUTH AFRICA, FEINBERG-MNGOMEZULU, 11-12:
A good kick closes the gap.
The All Blacks knock on from the restart and at the scrum they cough up advantage but South Africa cannot use that and will come back for the penalty.
McKenzie cannot convert the try from a tough angle
TRY, NEW ZEALAND CLARKE, 8-12:
Clarke sprints in at the corner after New Zealand sting South Africa with a quick turnover.
A knock off the restart gives South Africa the scrum but they don't get dominance and then a poor pass leaves them backtracking. A grubber kick rolls into touch but New Zealand play on quickly.
PENALTY, SOUTH AFRICA, FEINBERG-MNGOMEZULU, 8-7:
Feinberg-Mngomezulu slots a 60 metre penalty to give the Springboks a one point lead.
South Africa get the penalty on defence and they can come away from their line.
South Africa spill the ball in attack again and these drops could prove costly in the long run.
Barrett kicks straight into touch looking for the 50/22 and they will go back to the ten for a Springboks lineout.
New Zealand find space from the scrum and get up to South Africa's 22 where they are forced into touch.
The Springboks win the penalty on defence as the All Blacks cannot get the jackal off the ball. They kick up into the All Blacks half but after the lineout win they lose the ball in contact.
Now the Springboks don't take the kick in time. So the conversion goes begging.
TRY, SOUTH AFRICA, MBONAMBI, 5-7:
Mbonambi powers over with the penalty advantage being played.
Another penalty on the line and the inconsistency from the referee continues as New Zealand still have no warning.
New Zealand are blown up for pulling dowmn the Springboks maul and they will go to the corner now. Arendse had a chance to score earlier on a kick ahead but just couldn't get the ball up off then deck.
The Springboks get the relieving penalty and win the lineout to setup attacking play.
New Zealand touch the ball before it goes out but its deemed on the full and they trudge back to halfway. Perenara then nails a 50/22.
CONVERSION, NEW ZEALAND, MCKENZIE, 0-7:
McKenzie converts.
TRY, NEW ZEALAND, TAYLOR, 0-5:
New Zealand use obstruction to set up a tryscoring maul and the officials see nothing.
YELLOW CARD, SOUTH AFRICA, FASSI:
Fassi makes a tackle from an offside position and will be carded for that and New Zealand keep the pressure on.
An accidental offside gifts New Zealand the attacking scrum as they have applied all the pressure early on and remain in the Springboks 22.
South Africa have to defend through the phases now as New Zealand keep coming in waves. They hold them out eventually with a tackle into touch.
KICK-OFF: New Zealand kick off the match through McKenzie and Du Toit takes for South Africa who hoist up to halfway but an early penalty goes the way of the All Blacks.
