HALF-TIME, ULSTER 7-14 LIONS. The Lions have been superb, taking the fight to the home side and dominating much of the play, and coming so close to a third try. Ulster have plenty of power behind them but just didn't seem to be flowing. If they can get that right we could be in for one hell of a second-half!

UNLUCKY! The Lions drive forward and Kriel follows up and kicks the ball forward, then slides forwards, collects the ball and slides over the tryline to dot down… but the ref has picked up a knock-on by the Lions earlier, so Ulster has a scrum on their 10m.

Ulster drive up to the 5m, they try to drive over the line but the Lions intercept, flick three passes down the line and Nohamba kicks deep up into the Ulster 22, where the Lions pressure Ulster before they are able to clear the danger, the rain still pelting down.

TRY, LIONS, KRIEL! 0-5; Ulster win the scrum and run the ball until they are brought to ground, they kick but the Lions drive back at the up to the 5m line… but there's a great crossfield kick from Nohamba finds Kriel on the right touchline, the wing just needing the suck the ball into his stomach and take a few paces and then dive over for the try!

The Lions run down the blindside then spread it right as they press towards the 5m line, but Ulster are keeping them 10m back… but another knock-on by the Lions and the pressure on Ulster is relieved.

Huge pressure from the Lions but Ulster's defence is strong as a stone wall… and Van den Berg knocks on trying to feed out from the back of the scrum, and Ulster will feed the scrum with the chance to release the pressure.

A third loss followed when the Lions went 15-10 down away to Benetton, with a try, a penalty and a conversion. Success followed the following weekend with a thrilling one-point win over the Scarlets, thanks to a 76th-minute try by Van Wyk converted by Nohamba.

The Lions opened their season with a 33-35 home loss to the Stormers. The Lions scored five tries, including two in the last 10 minutes of the match, along with four conversions. Next up was another agonisingly close loss, this time losing 17-16 away to Edinburgh.

The next match saw them suffer their first loss of the season, a 22-20 away loss to Connacht. Ulster scored two converted tries and two penalties. They bounced back with their third win of the season, beating Munster 21-14 at home, with two tries, one conversion and three penalties.

Ulster's season got underway with a 36-40 away win over Zebre Parma, with six tries and five conversions. They followed that with a 26-19 home win over the Bulls, made up of two converted tries and four penalties.

The Lions have scored 10 tries and also conceded 10 tries, but have only picked up one try bonus point. Their three losses were all by narrow margins, which saw them pick up three losing bonus points.

The Lions have moved up to 12th place on the table with eight points after picking up their first win last week, following three losses on the bounce.

Ulster have scored 12 tries and conceded 14, earning them one try bonus. They also picked up a losing bonus point from their loss.

Ulster have won three of their four matches and lost one. They have a positive points difference of +16 thanks to their points spread of 107-91.

Ulster are in fourth place on the table with 14 points, behind three teams all on 15 points - the Bulls, Leinster and. Glasgow Warriors.
