It is phase after phase for the Stormers as they batter away at the Osprey line. But their defence is excellent and eventually Schickerling is penalized for failing to release and the Ospreys clear their lines.
The Stormers have a second wind and when the Ospreys prevent Ungerer, the replacement 9, from playing the ball at a ruck they concede a penalty and the Stormers set up a lineout.
TRY, STORMERS, SCHICKERLING, OSPREYS 30-24 STORMERS. The big lock who is back in Cape Town after three years in Japan gets his reward for a good night's work and he crashes over from a maul after the Stormers win the lineout. On for Matthee, Jean-Luc du Plessis misses the conversion.
The Stormers are on the attack. They go through the phases and come close but just can't quite find a way through. A good period for the visitors ends with s a lineout as they kick ahead hopefully and the Ospreys run it into touch.

From the lineout the Ospreys break with a cheeky chip over the top. Rueben Morgan Williams gathers and is almost there. A last-gasp tackle from Willemse stops him but his offload is a thing of beauty and Edwards is there to score.
More mess at scrum time. Both front rows have made substitutions but it hasn't improved the lack of stability. Eventually they get it right and after a bit of aerial ping-pong it's a lineout to the home side.
Dan du Plessis charges down a kick and the Stormers come close to a try but they are tackled into touch by a scrambling Ospreys defence.
We are back to the scrappy and error-strewn rugby of the first half as each side take a turn to kick directly into touch.
The Stormers can't make the mistake count as they concede a penalty from the resulting scrum.
Edwards has had a great game so far but he makes a mistake now as he bombs a long kick out the back from deep inside his own half. he gifts possession back to the Stormers.

TRY, OSPREYS, MORGAN WILLIAMS, OPSREYS 18-19 STORMERS. From the lineout the Ospreys drive it up. The Stormers are scrambling and on his 100th appearance Williams goes over.
Schickerling win s a big defensive lineout on his 5m line. They maul it up but eventually it is forced into touch, which means the Ospreys will now have a lineout 15m away from the Stormers line.
DROP GOAL, STORMERS, WILLEMSE, OSPREYS 13-19. It's messy at scrum time again and the Stormers win a penalty as Sti Sithole gets the better of his opposite number. They set up the lineout, they put up a bomb, they go through the phases and just when it seems like they are going nowhere, up pops Springbok fullback Damian Willemse to pop over a drop goal.
Bad mistake from Paul de Wet. Referee calls 'use it' and he takes too long to get the ball out the ruck. Scrum to the Ospreys.
Play is back underway and there is another 40 minutes to look forward to. For the Stormers a number of their returning stars have looked good. Damian Willemse has shown his class, Ruhan Nel has looked good, particularly with the way he marshals the defence and JD Schickerling is still a force to be reckoned with.
The referee blows for half time to bring an end to 40 minutes of entertaining albeit slightly scrappy rugby. There is no lack of energy or intent, but both sides are looking like it is still early in the season - which of course it is.
PENALTY, STORMERS, MATTHEE, 13-16: With seconds to go in the half the Stormers win a penalty in front of the posts after the tackler fails to release his man. Matthee slots the kicks.
PENALTY, OSPREYS, EDWARDS, 13-13. It has been a little scrappy, but when play is blown for an infraction at the breakdown Edwards steps up to bring the scores level.
An excellent kick from Dan Edwards brings some sanity to a frenetic passage of play that saw plenty of things tried from both sides but all to little effect.
Now it Rueben van Heerden who is pinged for a penalty after going off-side at a ruck. Ospreys set up a lineout.
Play gets a bit ragged as it moves from end-to-end. There are a few knock-ons and a charge-down, but it comes to an end when the Stormers win a penalty after a high-tackle on Dan du Plessis.

Referee decides to have a chat with the two front rows. He's not happy with the stability of the scrums as it's another reset. This time the Stormers win the penalty as the messy scrums continue. Matthee will kick at poles.
JD Schickerling with a lovely line-break but there was an obstruction and the play comes back for a scrum as the ref was playing advantage for an earlier knock. Stormers ball.
Stormers win a scrum inside the Osprey's 22. Three resets later and it is a freekick for the home side as Neethling Fouche is in trouble.
Dweba penalized for being offside and Ospreys set up a lineout deep in Stormers territory. They win the lineout but they spill the ball and the visitors counter. A cheeky inside pass from Ruhan Nel and a grubber from Willemse see the men from Cape Town switch the action the length of the field into Ospreys territory.
PENALTY, STORMERS, MATTHEE 3-10: The referee is playing advantage as the Stormers spill the ball with the line at their mercy. They are given the penalty which Matthee slots.
PENALTY, EDWARDS, OSPREYS 3-7 STORMERS: Almost straight from the restart the Stormers concede a penalty. The home side consider setting up the lineout by they opt for the three points and Edwards duly nails it.

A couple of phases for the visitors and then when it comes to Matthee he puts up a sensational cross-field kick. Another couple of phases and Zas waltzes over untouched.
the first lineout of the night goes to the Stormers who take it quickly and look to run. They lose the ball though after a poor kick ahead and the Ospreys counter, eventually putting the ball out for a lineout on the other side of the field.
