Ivan van Zyl was the latest Springbok to lift a trophy in Europe after Saracens were crowned English Premiership champions on Saturday.
The scrumhalf dotted down in the 70th minute for Saracens, virtually securing the victory and the championship as they triumphed 35-25 over the Sale Sharks.
Sale featured Springbok hooker Akker van der Merve, who scored in the first half, while Springboks Rob du Preez was at outside centre and his brother Jean-Luc at lock.
Across the English Channel in the final round of France's Top 14 action, Springbok winger Cheslin Kolbe's Toulon defeated Bordeaux 35-19 but ultimately missed out on securing a spot in the playoffs by two log points.
However, Kolbe's 2019 Rugby World Cup teammates Warrick Delant and Trevor Nyakane will have a chance at French glory. Despite losing 32-25 to Clermont, Montpellier - who had Boks Gelant and Nyakane in the starting XV - will face Stade Francais in the first round of the playoffs.
Stade Francais had Springbok scrum machine Vincent Koch at tighthead when they beat a depleted La Rochelle 14-10 to finish fourth on the table and secure a home quarterfinal.
Springbok flanker Rhynardt Elstadt was on the bench for Toulouse as they secured their top spot on the log with a 54-10 hammering of Brive.
