Sport can change in an instant.
This past weekend, the global rugby community united in profound grief following the tragic passing of 10bet Lions lock Hyron Andrews.
Among the most moving tributes came from Edinburgh Rugby. They invited their fans to stand in the fifth minute of their fixture to honour a fallen hero.
On behalf of South African rugby fans everywhere: thank you, Edinburgh, for your immense class and compassion.
In the 5th minute of tomorrow night’s match, we’ll hold a minute’s applause in memory of Hyron Andrews, who tragically passed away last week. 🙏 We ask all fans to stand if able and join us in paying tribute. Our thoughts remain with Hyron’s family, friends and everyone at the 10bet Lions.

Moments like this remind us that rugby is, above all, a big family. No matter the jersey or the hemisphere, we share an unbreakable bond.
When tragedy strikes one of our own, club rivalries fade instantly. The entire fraternity wraps its arms around the grieving family, friends, and everyone at the Lions.
