Scotland back-rower Jamie Ritchie will leave Perpignan after just one season, the French Top 14 side's coach Laurent Labit said on Wednesday.
The 29-year-old moved to France at the beginning of the campaign after 11 years with Edinburgh.
"Jamie is someone who gives a lot, who is appreciative of the club, and there are moments when personal and private life is more important than professional life," said Labit at a press conference when questioned about media reports that Ritchie was heading to Glasgow next season.
"We've already seen with the case of Max Hicks, who will leave us for extra-sporting reasons," Labit added about the New Zealander lock who is moving to Newcastle Red Bulls next season after a single year in southwest France.
Ritchie, who has played 74 times for Scotland, has made 14 appearances for Perpignan this season, including 13 from the start.
He missed two months of the season after he was injured during Scotland's Six Nations victory over England in mid-February.
Perpignan are second-from-bottom in the Top 14 and look certain to be involved in the promotion/relegation play-off against the losers of the second-tier Pro D2 final at the end of the season.
They travel to Clermont, who are fighting to make the end-of-season playoffs, on Saturday.
