Vodacom Bulls coach Jake White has returned Johan Goosen to the starting line-up following his concussion and will play him at fullback against the Cell C Sharks in their Vodacom United Rugby Championship match on Sunday.
Goosen missed out on Springbok selection for the tour of Europe, but did make the SA A side, mainly because of a lack of game time, but his appearance at fullback is an interesting one, especially given the Boks want to use him at 10.Still, Chris Smith slots into the 10 jersey while the Bulls will use their Springbok winger S’bu Nkosi before he jets off overseas with David Kriel in the 14 jersey.
The midfield sees a shift with Cornal Hendricks, who returned to the SA A team and back in contention for international rugby this week, partnering Harold Vorster.
Up front, recalled Springbok Marco van Staden forms the loose trio with WJ Steenkamp and Marcell Coetzee, the latter who will captain the team for the last time before heading off to Japan.
There is a strong bench that will have a second half impact, especially with three front rankers who have made the SA A side while Wandisile Simelane, Stravino Jacobs and Embrose Papier provide the firepower in the backline off the bench.
