Proteas Men’s batter Tony de Zorzi and Momentum Multiply Titans batter Donovan Ferreira have been ruled out of the upcoming three-match KFC T20 International (T20I) series against West Indies and the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka due to injury.
De Zorzi has not progressed as expected in his rehabilitation from a right hamstring muscle tear sustained during the one-day international series against India last month and will not be fit in time for the upcoming T20I series.
As a result of his unavailability for the series and the need for continued rehabilitation, he will miss the T20 World Cup.
Ferreira, meanwhile, sustained a fracture of his left clavicle during the Betway SA20 encounter between Joburg Super Kings and Pretoria Capitals at DP World Wanderers Stadium on Saturday, 17 January.
Ryan Rickelton and Tristan Stubbs have been named as their replacements in the 15-player squad.

David Miller suffered an adductor muscle injury on Monday while playing for Paarl Royals and will play no part in the T20I series.
His availability for the T20 World Cup remains subject to the outcome of a fitness test ahead of the support period.
Renault Potchefstroom North West Dragons batter Rubin Hermann has been added to the squad for the T20I series against West Indies.
The squad will get together from Friday, 23 January ahead of the first T20I on Tuesday, 27 January at Boland Park in Paarl, before heading to the Highveld for the second and third T20Is at SuperSport Park (29 January) in Centurion and DP World Wanderers Stadium (31 January) in Johannesburg.
Squad members currently involved in the knockout phase of the Betway SA20 will join the side on Monday, 26 January.
The T20 World Cup squad departs for India on 1 February from OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg.
