Orlando Pirates have confirmed that Malawi international Gabadinho Mhango has passed his medical and is now officially part of their squad for the new season.

Mhango has signed a three-year deal after arriving from BidVest Wits, and will team up with the squad in their preparation camp in Rustenburg.

“I am happy to have joined this wonderful club and I look forward to the season ahead,” he told his new club’s website.

Mhango had extended his contract with Wits for another year, but Pirates have now swooped in to sign him from the Clever Boys.

Blessed with great pace, Mhango can be frustrating in front of goal, and has managed 35 goals in 87 starts in the Premier Soccer League since joining Bloemfontein Celtic for the 2013/14 season.

He spent three years with Siwelele before a year at Lamontville Golden Arrows, and then a move to Wits for the 2016/17 season, where he helped them to the Absa Premiership title.
