Brandon Nakashima held off determined Spanish teenager Rafael Jodar 7-6 (7/3), 6-4 on Wednesday to reach the final of the ATP Montreal Masters.
Nakashima will play an all-American final on Thursday against either defending champion Ben Shelton or Learner Tien.
Nakashima needed five match points to finally prevail, reaching the title match of a Masters 1000 event for the first time.
