Real Madrid's Santiago Bernabeu stadium will host a tennis clay court for training during the Madrid Open in April, the tournament organisers said Friday.
The court will be available for both ATP and WTA players between April 23-30, a period in which Real Madrid have no home matches scheduled.
"Bringing a clay court to one of the world's most iconic venues creates a unique meeting point between the tradition of tennis and the universal appeal of a stage that is constantly evolving," said the Madrid Open in a statement.
Madrid hosted an NFL game at the Bernabeu in November 2025 for the first time as they look to use their renovated stadium, which reopened after works in 2023, to increase revenue.
As a result they played a string of matches away from home around that period, during which the team struggled.
Los Blancos had planned to host several high-profile concerts at the Bernabeu but were forced to stop because of noise complaints, with a neighbourhood association taking the stadium's owners to court.
The Madrid Open starts on April 20 and runs until May 3 at the Caja Magica, south of the city.
