19 May: Afcon U17 Final - Senegal 2-1 Morocco
Mamadou Sawane headed home the winning goal seven minutes from time as Senegal scored twice in four minutes to come from a goal down and beat Morocco 2-1 to clinch their first ever TotalEnergies U17 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) title in a dramatic finale at the Nelson Mandela Stadium in Algiers.
27 May - Nedbank Cup Final: Orlando Pirates 2 Sekhukhune 1
Orlando Pirates were crowned 2023 Nedbank Cup champions, following their dramatic 2-1 win over Sekhukhune United at a packed Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Saturday night.
It was their 9th Nedbank Cup title and their first Nedbank Cup title since the 2013-14 season when they defeated Wits in the final.
Sekhukhune became the first team to lose a Nedbank Cup Final since the 2015-16 Final when Pirates took the lead but lost to SuperSport United 3-2.
27 May - EFL Playoff Final: Luton beat Coventry on penalties to clinch PL promotion
A penalty shootout victory over Coventry City in the EFL Championship playoff final put Luton Town in the promised land of the Premier League.
28 May and 3 June – CAF Confed Cup Final
USM Alger claim Confederation Cup despite defeat
USM Alger claimed a first CAF Confederation Cup title despite suffering a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Young Africans in the second leg of the final, played at Stade du 5 Juillet in Algiers.
31 May: UEFA Europa League Final - Sevilla in seventh heaven after Europa League win
Sevilla found their Europa League magic formula on Wednesday, beating Roma 4-1 on penalties after a 1-1 draw to make it seven wins in seven finals in Europe's second-tier competition.
3 June: FA Cup Final - Gundogan double secures FA Cup for Manchester City
Manchester City are one game away from a historic treble after Ilkay Gundogan scored twice to beat Manchester United 2-1 in the FA Cup final on Saturday.
Pep Guardiola's men completed a domestic double at Wembley and can become just the second side, after United in 1998/99, to win the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League in the same season should they beat Inter Milan to become European champions for the first time on June 10.
4 and 11 June – CAF Champions League Final
Sunday sees the first leg of this year’s African Champions League final as Al Ahly host holders Wydad Casablanca in Cairo. Al Ahly are the most successful club in the history of the competition with 10 wins, double the number of next most successful team. Wydad Casablanca from Morocco are the holders of the trophy and three-time winners and meet Al Ahly this year’s final.
7 June – Europa Conference League Final
West Ham reached their first European final for 47 years after a 1-0 victory at AZ Alkmaar clinched a 3-1 aggregate success in the Europa Conference League semifinals.
They will face Fiorentina, who overcame a a 2-1 home defeat against Basel to win the second leg 3-1 in Switzerland and go through 4-3 on aggregate.
10 June – UEFA Champions League Final
The UEFA Champions League final is set to be an absolute thriller as Manchester City and Inter Milan clash in Istanbul.
Pep Guardiola's City are on course for a treble this season - but a first Champions League title - after demolishing Real Madrid 4-0 in the second leg of their semifinal - while Inter are looking to end a 13-year wait for the ultimate European football title.
18 June – UEFA Nations League Final
Croatia, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands will contest the 2022/23 UEFA Nations League finals after topping their League A groups. Spain (2021) and the Netherlands (2019) were runners-up in the first two editions while Italy finished third two years ago. For Croatia, the tournament in June will be their first finals appearance.

Saturday, 20 May - Heineken Champions Cup final
La Rochelle became the fifth team to win back-to-back European Champions Cups on Saturday when they clawed back a 17-point deficit to beat Leinster 27-26 at the Aviva Stadium in another breathless final between the sides.
Saturday, 27 May - Vodacom United Rugby Championship final
Flanker John Hodnett scored a try four minutes from time to secure Munster a deserved 19-14 win over the DHL Stormers at a packed DHL Stadium in a tense and close Vodacom United Rugby Championship final that secured them their first silverware in 12 years.

29 May - IPL final
Chennai seal IPL title with final-ball thriller
Chennai Super Kings were crowned Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) champions for a record-equalling fifth time after a dramatic last ball victory over defending champions Gujarat Titans in a match that ended at 01h35 in Ahmedabad on Tuesday.
Ravindra Jadeja was the hero for the visitors striking the last two deliveries for a six and then a four to clinch the win by five wickets on the DLS Method.
7-11 June - ICC WTC Final
Australia win WTC final by beating India
Scott Boland sparked a dramatic collapse as a dominant Australia hammered India by 209 runs to win the World Test Championship final at The Oval on Sunday. But they slumped to 234 all out before lunch on the fifth day, losing their last five wickets for a mere 22 runs. Boland did the initial damage with two wickets in Sunday's seventh over, including the prize scalp of Virat Kohli, on his way to figures of 3-46 in 16 overs. Offspinner Nathan Lyon (4-41) then polished off the tail.
Victory meant Australia had now captured the one major men's cricket title that had previously eluded them.

10-11 June - Roland Garros finals
The Queen and King of Clay will be crowned as the finals of Roland Garros 2023 are played out on Court Phillipe Chatrier.
With Rafa Nadal out of the picture, a number of the men will be champing at the bit to take the crown he has won 14 times in the last 18 years.
On the women's side, Iga Swiatek, the 2022 women's champion, will be aiming for a third title in Paris.
