Sudan head coach James Kwasi Appiah has urged his side to go out fighting when they face Ghana in matchday four of their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying bid at the Martyrs of February Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.

Kick-off is at 3pm (CAT, GMT+2)

CURRENT FORM

Ghana and Sudan played to a 0-0 stalemate in their most recent Afcon qualifier, which took place at the Accra Sports Stadium this past Thursday.

Following what was a largely frustrating tie for the Black Stars, given their dominance throughout the encounter, Ghana went into their next tie sitting in 3rd position in Group F after three matches played.

Sudan on the other hand, occupy 2nd spot in Group F, five points behind log leaders Angola. While Ghana played the previous tie on home soil, the return leg has been scheduled to commence at a neutral venue amid security concerns in Sudan.

WHAT WAS SAID

Sudan head coach James Kwasi Appiah has tipped his side to win big on Tuesday after expressing his content at recording a draw in Accra.

“It was a difficult game but we managed to fight to get a draw,” Appiah said.

“We are now going to play the return leg in Benghazi. It’s not going to be easy but Inshallah we are going to fight and make sure we get a big victory for Sudan.

On the back of firing blanks on Thursday, Ghana mentor Otto Addo believes his side will put the ball into the back of the net on Tuesday afternoon.

“I think they’ve shown on every level they can score all of them and I believe in them; they will score in the next game,” Addo said.

TEAM NEWS

Both sides are expected to name a full-strength squad for the upcoming tie after facing no real injury concerns in Ghana.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

Other than the most recent stalemate, Ghana has the upper hand over Sudan in the head-to-head count after bagging three wins in the last five matches played across the board.

Sudan last tasted victory against Ghana in 2020, when they recorded a 1-0 win over the Black Stars in a Afcon qualifier at the Al-Hilal Stadium.
