Marumo Gallants were held to a 1-1 draw against TS Galaxy in the Betway Premiership at the Seisa Ramabodu Stadium in Bloemfontein on Saturday afternoon.

With Gallants desperate to make a statement at home, the team struggled in the beginning of the first half to get a grip of the game.

The Rockets dominated possession and had more shots on goal as the break approached.

Much to the frustration of coach Dan Malesela, Siwelele sa Marumo struggled to finish their chances and things worsened as the half progressed when they lost a key player to a red card.

Edgar Manaka was sent off for Gallants in the 42nd minute, giving the hosts some tactical decisions to make to survive the second half.

The extremely hot conditions proved to be challenging for the players, and a cooling break was granted.

The first goal was scored by the visitors through Samukelo Kabini in the second half, and the Rockets seemed to be in full control of the match.

The celebrations didn’t last long, however, as Gallants replied in the 67th minute through Xola Mlambo’s successful attempt on goal after coming off the bench for the team.

Both teams pushed for the winner, but the hosts held on, even with a man down.

The match ended in a draw, with both teams sharing the points in Bloemfontein.
