Saudi Arabia will take part in the next two editions of the Concacaf Gold Cup, the Saudi national team said on Thursday, after the country was selected as 2034 World Cup hosts last week.

The next edition of the Gold Cup, the regional championship of North and Central America and the Caribbean, will be played from 14 June to 6 July, 2025 in the US and Canada.

Concacaf said it was continuing the tradition of including a global guest for the 2025 and 2027 editions after 2022 World Cup hosts Qatar were invited to compete at the two previous tournaments.

“The national team will participate in the 2025 and 2027 editions of the Concacaf Gold Cup starting from the next one, to be held in the United States and Canada from 14 June to 6 July,” the Saudi national team in a statement.

Concacaf explained it would start “an important partnership in 2025” with the Saudi soccer federation as part of an agreement signed with the Asian confederation.

“This will include the Saudi Arabian Men’s National Team participating in the Gold Cup as a guest, collaboration on football development and CSR initiatives, and significant knowledge sharing between the region that will host the Fifa World Cup 2026 and the nation which has recently been awarded hosting rights for the 2034 global showpiece,” it added.

Global soccer governing body Fifa officially awarded the 2034 World Cup to Saudis last Wednesday, with the sole bid for the tournament confirmed by acclamation.
