Jaron Ennis defends interim IBF title

Interim IBF welterweight champion Jaron “Boots” Ennis meets Roiman Villa from Colombia over 12 rounds on Saturday night at The ballroom, Boardwalk Hall, in Atlantic City.
The 26-year-old Ennis (31-1nc; 27) is the overwhelming favourite against the relatively unknown Villa (26-1; 24), despite being listed at No 2 in the most recent IBF ratings. The IBF do not list a No 1.
Villa, 30, won his most recent fight against Rashidi Ellis in what was considered an upset.

The odds makers have the switch-hitting Ennis as an overwhelming favourite, but the question is how he rates with the rest of the division.
He is coming off victories over the capable former junior welterweight world champion Sergey Lipinets, Thomas Dulorme and Custio Clayton.
Ennis will have to wait to get his crack at the undisputed welterweight championship with Errol Spence and Terence Crawford battling for the undisputed welterweight title on 29 July.
However, it is on the cards that he could meet the winner of the proposed fight between former champions Keith Thurman and Yordenis Ugas.
The undefeated Ennis remains a threat to anyone in the division including Spence and Crawford.
