WBC light flyweight champion Masamichi Yabuki meets fellow Japanese Kenshiro Teraji in a rematch at the City Gym in Kyoto, Japan on Saturday.

The first fight was one of the biggest upsets of 2021 and one of the best fights of the year.

The 30-year-old Teraji (18-1; 10) had held the belt since 2017 when he beat Ganigan Lopez on points over 12 rounds and then went on to make eight successful defences of the title.

In the first fight, the 29-year-old Yabuki (13-3; 12) was ahead after eight rounds but began to tire and was bruised over both eyes.

Teraji, who had a bad cut over his right eye, mounted the pressure against Yabuki.

However, the gutsy challenger somehow dug deep and scored with his jab and a big right hand in the 10th round that stunned the defending champion as the referee stepped in to stop the fight.

Yabuki won against the odds in the first fight and the question is, 'Can he do it again?'

The other main organisation champions are WBO, Jonathan Gonzalez Ortiz, IBF, Felix Alvarado, WBA “super”, Hiroto Kyoguchi and WBA secondary Esteban Bermudez.
