Former two division champion wins on a majority decision

Former IBF and WBC welterweight champion Danny “Swift” Garcia moved up junior middleweight to win on a 12-round majority points decision over Jose Benavidez Jr. at the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn, New York on Saturday night.
Benavidez pressed forward throughout the fight, but Garcia was the better fighter as he scored with stinging punches to the head and body.
Benavidez saw his record drop 27-2; 18 and Garcia’s record went to 37-3; 21.

The scores were 117-111, 116-112 and 114-114.
ALI EREN DEMIREZEN WINS AGAINST ADAM KOWNACKI
Heavyweight Ali Eren Demirezen ranked at No 10 by the WBO scored a ten round unanimous points decision over Adam Kownacki, on the Garcia-Benavidez undercard.
The scores were 97-93 twice and 96-94.
In a junior welterweight bout Gary Antuanne Russell 16-0; 16 won on a controversial sixth round stoppage against former two-division champion Rances Barthelemy 29-2-1; 15.
Barthelemy attacked throughout the and when Russell scored a knockdown in the sixth round Barthelemy beat the count, but referee Shada Murdaugh waved the fight off at 50 seconds into the round.
Middleweight Sergiy Derevyanchenko 14-4; 10 beat Joshua Conley 17-4-1; 11 on points over ten rounds. The scores were 99-91 twice and 98-92.
In a welterweight bout Vito Mielnicki Jr. 12-1; 8 stopped Jimmy Williams 18-9-2; 6 in the sixth round due to a cut.
Super middleweight Junior Younan 17-0-1; 11 beat Dauren Yeleussinov 10-2; 9 on a first-round stoppage.
BILLIAM-SMITH RETAINS EUROPEAN AND COMMONWEALTH TITLES
Chris Billiam-Smith 16-1; 11 who is rated at No 2 by the WBO and at No 3 by the IBF retained the European and Commonwealth cruiserweight titles against the IBF No 8 Isaac Chamberlain 14-2; 8 on a 12 round unanimous points decision, on Saturday night at the Bournemouth International Centre in Bournemouth, England.
The scores were 117-111 on all three judges’ scorecards.
On the same card junior middleweight Joe Pigford 20-0; 19 beat Raphael King 15-2-1; 13 on a third-round stoppage in a clash for the WBO Euro title. .
