The Momentum Multiply Titans fought back as the Hollywoodbets Dolphins sat on 109-5 at stumps on day two of the CSA 4-Day Franchise Series encounter and trail by 56 runs.

Jason Smith (39*) and Andile Phehlukwayo (1*) will resume for the hosts on day three as they trail by 56 runs.

After bowling the Titans out for 165, the Dolphins got off to a poor start, losing last round's centurion Sarel Erwee for one.

Titans allrounder Corbin Bosch backed up his fifty with the ball as he removed Erwee and then Marques Ackerman (5).

Another allrounder Donavon Ferreira grabbed two scalps as opener Bryce Parsons was stumped for 10 and Khaya Zondo was trapped LBW for five.

A 76-run stand between Smith and Grant Roelofsen before the latter departed for 36 at the close of play.

However, the star of the day was spinner Prenelan Subrayen, who took seven wickets for 53 as the Titans were bowled out for 165 at Hollywoodbets Kingsmead.

C Bosch was the Titans' only hopeful as he scored 54 off 53 balls (hitting eight fours and a six) before he was caught and bowled by Jon-Jon Smuts, ending their innings.

Subrayen struck twice in the 18th over as he bowled Neil Brand out for 27 and then dismissed teenage sensation Dewald Brevis for two.

Smuts accompanied his teammate as he got opener Jiveshan Pillay to advance and caught for 16, and then removed Sibonelo Makhanya for 12 as the Titans were reeling at 57-4.

Wickets tumbled as Subrayen trapped LBW Donavon Ferreira (14), got Musawenkosi Twala to reverse sweep and caught at slip for only five.

Immediately after that, Junior Dala was caught at cover for a golden duck as Subrayen picked up his seventh first-class five-for.

KNIGHTS EXTEND LEAD AT ST GEORGE'S PARK

The ITEC Knights extend their lead after bowling the Dafabet Warriors and currently sit on 37-2 after rain closed play on day two of the CSA 4-Day Franchise Series clash at St George's Park.

The Warriors were bowled out for 134, attempting to reach the Knights' first innings of 422.

Beyers Swanepoel starred with the ball for the Warriors as he struck early. Knights opener Isaac Dikgale only managed three before he edged behind.

Swanepoel then trapped LBW Pite van Biljon to end on five for 21.

The Knights lead by 325 runs with Patrick Kruger (20*) and Raynard Van Tonder (3*) still in the middle after the weather interrupted proceedings after tea.

Earlier in the day, Kruger removed both Warriors openers Jordan Hermann (0) and Kyle Jacobs (14).

Wickets tumbled in clusters for the home side as Matthew Breetzke (13) chopped a Nhlakanipho Mpungose delivery onto his stumps, and then Lesiba Ngoepe was caught for 10 off the bowling of Nealan van Heerden.

Kruger ended with a five-wicket haul (21 runs) as the Warriors found themselves bundled out for 134.

HAMZA MAKES SPARKLING TON AS WP LEAD AT THE BULLRING

Zubayr Hamza returned to first-class cricket in style as he scored a century for Six Gun Grill Western Province as they sit on 386-9 at stumps on day two of the CSA 4-Day Franchise Series match against the DP World Lions.

Hamza scored his 14th first-class century and helped Western Province lead by 63 runs.

Hamza, who has returned to cricket after an eight-month ban, rescued WP from a troubling start, reeling at 54-3.

However, Hamza shared a vital 134-run partnership with Kyle Verreynne, who got a fine edge behind to depart for 68 off 84 balls (hitting eight fours and three sixes) off the bowling of seamer Sisanda Magala.

Aviwe Mgijima called for a quick single but was run out by a direct hit from Dominic Hendricks for 13.

Hamza was eventually caught and bowled by Bjorn Fortuin for 129 off 177 balls (hitting 18 fours and two sixes).

Mihlali Mpongwana shared an 81-run stand with Kyle Simmonds (40) before Lutho Sipamla struck and trapped Mpongwana LBW for 62 off 101 balls (nine fours and a six).

Sipamla is one wicket away from a well-deserved five-for, having removed Edward Moore for 11, trapping Daniel Smith for a duck and then removing opener Jonathan Bird, who edged behind to the keeper for 29.
