The CSA 4-Day Series match between Goldrush Boland and the Knights, being played at Boland Park, hangs in the balance after the two sides recorded identical first-innings totals.

The hosts were bowled out for 266 on day two of the contest.

At stumps, the Knights were on 1-0. They lead Boland by one run with 10 wickets in hand.

The hosts bowled out the Knights for 266 on day one.

Isaac Dikgale (0*) and Lesego Senokwane (1*) will resume for the Knights on day three.

Gavin Kaplan and Clyde Fortuin scored wonderful half-centuries to keep Boland in the contest after the home side had endured a stop-start opening spell.

Pieter Malan (28), Grant Roelofsen (25) and Aviwe Mgijima (25) all had starts but failed to kick on.

Things changed when Kaplan and Fortuin joined forces for an 83-run fourth-wicket partnership.

Kaplan registered his third first-class half-century during the course of that partnership.

Fortuin had to wait a little longer for his milestone. He reached his 18th half-ton shortly after Kaplan's dismissal.

WICKETS TUMBLE AFTER TEA

The home side was looking comfortable and in control during Kaplan and Fortuin's partnership.

It looked like the home side was setting up to take a first-innings lead. However things took a turn after tea.

Aaron Phangiso and Malusi Siboto wrestled control of the innings back with four wickets in eight overs after tea.

The home side lost Gavin Kaplan, Nathan Engelbrecht, Clyde Fortuin and Keith Dudgeon for 13 runs.

Phangiso struck twice in three overs and Siboto executed a double strike in a single over to dismiss Fortuin and Dudgeon in three deliveries.

The collapse left Boland on 205/7.

Shaun von Berg (22) and Aya Gqamane (28) constructed a 47-run eighth-wicket partnership that drew the home side close to the Knights' total.

Glenton Stuurman (3) and Siyabonga Mahima (1*) did just enough to tie the scores.

Johan van Dyk was the pick of the bowlers for the Knights with four wickets for 46 runs in 17 overs.

Phangiso finished with three wickets for 54 runs in 27 overs and Siboto took two for 28 in 11 overs.
