Persistent rain forced the abandonment of the CSA T20 Challenge match between the Auto Investment North West Dragons and the AET Tuskers at the JB Marks Oval, Potchefstroom, on Wednesday night. The Dragons and Tuskers remain unmoved in fifth and seventh place, as a result.

This is the second consecutive no-result for the Dragons and their third of the season.

The Tuskers have had better fortune on that front, their past five matches have produced results and this is their first no result.

The clash was meant to be the second clash between the two sides.

Their previous meeting this season was on 15 March at the Pietermaritzburg Oval.

The Dragons administered a severe thumping on the Tuskers on that occasion, winning by a mammoth 125 runs.

That is the biggest margin of victory in this year's edition of the T20 Challenge.

On that occasion, Rubin Hermann put the Tuskers' bowlers to the sword, scoring an imperious 102 off 54 deliveries for his maiden T20 century.

Hermann's opening partner, Meeka-eel Prince, also gave a good account of himself by scoring a brisk 58 off 34 balls.

Suneran Muthusamy led the bowling attack with aplomb. The Dragons' captain bagged three wickets for 16 runs and was supported by Kerwin Mungroo and Caleb Seleka, who took two wickets each.

With such good memories against the Tuskers, the Dragons were hyped and ready to do a double on the KZN side.

However, despite coming into the encounter with a single win in five games, the Tuskers would not have been pushovers.

They recently shocked the DP World Lions in a rain-affected match and put up a fight in their last match, thanks to some brilliant batting from Keith Dudgeon.

The Tuskers face the Gbets Rocks in their next match in a tie they will be looking to win, while the Dragons go up against the Hollywoodbets Dolphins.
