Reyneke to captain Junior Proteas in U19 Women’s T20 World Cup in Malaysia
Cricket South Africa (CSA) is proud to announce the South Africa Under-19 Women’s squad that will represent the nation at the second edition of the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup. The tournament is set to take place in Malaysia from 18 January - 02 February 2025.
The 15-player squad will be led by Western Province allrounder Kayla Reyneke and features the same group of future stars that recently competed against Ireland, as well as India U19 A and B, in recent Youth T20 International series.
In addition to the main squad, five non-travelling reserves have been named: Lethabo Bidli, Keamogetswe Chuene, Jenna-Lee Lubbe, Jané Verhage and Sinelethu Yaso.

South Africa, making a second appearance in the U19 Women’s T20 World Cup, has been drawn in Group C alongside Samoa, New Zealand, and fellow African side Nigeria.
The Junior Proteas will be officially capped at a special ceremony on 05 January at the Newlands Stadium in Cape Town, coinciding with a national flag handover during Day 3 of the Proteas Men’s test match against Pakistan.
Under the guidance of head coach Dinesha Devnarain, the SA U19s will play three practice T20 matches against the USA U19s on 06, 07, and 08 January in the Cape Winelands while based at the Stellenbosch Academy of Sport in Stellenbosch from 04 - 10 January.
As part of their World Cup warm-up schedule, the SA U19 team will face Ireland on 13 January and conclude their preparations with a match against India on 15 January.
