Top two place for KKR after playoff rains out
The log-leading Kolkata Knight Riders were guaranteed a top two place in this year’s Tata IPL log after rain forced their match against the Gujarat Titans to be abandoned in Ahmedabad on Monday night.
Earlier, flashes of lightning and steady drizzle delayed the toss and finally the umpires and players bowed to the inclement weather after more than three hours’ delay.
The abandonment, in which both teams take a point, also meant that the Titans, who had the slimmest of chances of reaching the playoffs anyway, failed to make the cut and were eliminated.
