The ACDC Express Tuskers head into another busy week of CSA T20 Knock-Out action in a strong position on the overall table as they face the Mpumalanga Rhinos and the Eastern Storm.

They are back home at the AET Pietermaritzburg Oval on Wednesday to take on the Rhinos and then they travel to Benoni to face the table-topping Storm on Saturday.

The Tuskers are currently second on the table with three wins from their four matches so far in the competition and head coach Ahmed Amla is happy with how things have gone so far in the tournament.

“It has been a decent start and getting a few wins under our belt has been a huge positive,” Amla said.

“I am happy with the position we find ourselves in, but I will only be satisfied when we execute all the skills for 240 balls.”

With three wins so far in the competition the Tuskers have been in strong form and for Amla implementing a certain style of play is starting to come to fruition.

“We have attempted to play in a positive manner with bat and ball, and so far, it's shown in patches.

'ON THE JOURNEY'

“It's expected that it will take some time to implement and execute collectively and more importantly consistently, but we are on the journey,” Amla added.

The Tuskers will play two more matches this week which adds to the current load of fixtures that they are playing. For the coach it’s just important that they manage themselves through the workload.

“Every game is important in the context of the competition and our team aspirations, so we must be on top of our game at every opportunity.

“The boys are being managed well by the strength and conditioning staff and physio team, so fatigue is not an issue.”

These next two matches will give the Tuskers a good idea of how things will shape up for the rest of the competition. Amla says the team will continue to try and make strides forward without too much focus on their log position.

“We are always improving as a unit every practice and game. It’s important that we still strive for that consistency and execution for a full game of 240 balls.

“We have a good group of guys and trust that they know we back them and will provide the environment for everyone’s continuous improvement.”
