Dutch rider Olav Kooij won the opening stage of the Tour of Poland on Saturday, a 218.8km run between Kielce and Lublin.
Kooij, of the Jumbo-Visma team which took Jonas Vingegaard to the Tour de France title last weekend, came out on top in a sprint finish ahead of Phil Bauhaus of Germany and Belgium's Jordi Meeus.
Behind them, many riders in the peloton were caught up in a crash just one kilometre from the finish.
