Collazo retains WBO Mini Flyweight title

WBO Mini Flyweight champion Oscar Collazo 10-0; 7 retained his title against Nicaraguan Gerardo Zapata 14-2-1; 6 at the Turning Stone Casino in Verona. New York on Friday night.

The scores were 119-109 twice and 117-110.

In the first round, there was nothing in it but then Zapata scored with a big right to the chin as Collazo just managed to hear the bell for the end of round two.

However, Collazo came back to take round three and began to outwork Zapata but never looked like stopping his opponent.

In the 12th and last round, both fighters threw a lot of punches but it was Collazo who proved the better fighter and retained his title.
