Orlando Pirates coach Rhulani Mokwena says he is confident results will come for his side as they prepare to face Kaizer Chiefs in the Telkom Knockout quarterfinals in Durban on Saturday.

The Buccaneers have just two wins in their last 11 matches in all competitions, but with the prospect of a meeting with Soweto Derby rivals Kaizer Chiefs, Mokwena says they are ripe for a change in fortune.

“In my opinion we’re playing very good football – probably some of the best football in the league week in and week out, we are very consistent on that,” he told reporters after Saturday’s 1-0 loss to Stellenbosch FC.

“We find ourselves in the position that we should not be in. All the supporters that I speak to understand football and they understand where the team is. They understand why the team is in the position that it is in.

“When you are supported by people who understand the game, it’s easier for you to sit in a position where you take the responsibility and you try to make sure that you do the best that you can to turn things around.”

Pirates are unbeaten against Chiefs in their last 12 competitive outings.
