SuperSport expect fight from Leopards
Veteran SuperSport United defender Clayton Daniels is expecting a massive battle from struggling Black Leopards when the teams meet in their Absa Premiership clash at the FNB Stadium on Tuesday.
Leopards are fighting for survival, but have won both their matches since the resumption of the league, defeating Maritzburg United (3-2) and Lamontville Golden Arrows (2-1) to move off the foot of the table.
SuperSport could still finish in the top two places and earn a CAF Champions League place, though are more likely fighting for third and the CAF Confederation Cup.
"It is one of those games ... they are playing to survive at the bottom and we are playing for a better spot in the league. It is going to be a fight, it is not going to be easy,” Daniels said.
"We showed in the last game [2-0 win over Polokwane City] that we can play a little bit ugly and get points. The guys must just show up on the day and give their all and get all three points.”
Daniels says the determination to finish the season well remains with the side, and there are no signs of fatigue in the Gauteng bio-bubble.
"The mood is still good, the energy is still there, everything is fine. Everyone is still excited to be here. In training the guys are not moping around, they are working hard, which is a sign that everything is going well.
"We are playing at a new stadium [BidVest Stadium], so for us it is a new challenge. We have adapted very well to all circumstances, credit must go to the guys.”
