In a match where little separated Sudan and Niger in Juba, Abo Eisa’s 51st-minute strike was enough for the Falcons of Jediane to bag maximum points on home soil.
Elsewhere, Comoros and Gambia settled for a 1-1 draw in their respective group A fixture that took place at the Ben M'Hamed El Abdi Stadium in Morocco.

Neither side were able to produce any notable scoring opportunities throughout the 90 minutes and appeared to have shook hands at the idea of sharing the point count minutes before the final whistle was blown.
