Zamalek will face off with TP Mazembe in the CAF Champions League A match at the Al Salam Stadium on Friday.

Kick-off is at 9:00 pm CAT.

The Egyptians recorded their second win in the group stage when they defeated Zambian champions ZESCO United 2-0 at home in the last match.

The result saw Zamalek remain on the second spot on the Group A standings - three points behind the leaders, Mazembe.

Patrice Carteron, the Zamalek coach, has made it clear that his side is looking to win their last two games in order to qualify for the knockout phase.

“Previously we were struggling with scoring, especially against Smouha and Entag," Carteron said.

"Now we make the most out of our chances and we score and most importantly we are still able to get to our opposition’s goal (against ZESCO).

“We’re not focusing on topping our group as our only goal is to win every game."

Meanwhile, Mazembe registered their third victory in the group stage when they defeated Angolan champions C.D. Primeiro de Agosto 2-1 at home in their last game.

As a result, the DR Congolese champions qualified for the knockout phase with two games to spare in the group stage.

Dragan Cvetkovic, the Mazembe technical director, was impressed by the team's performance against Agosto.

"It was very intense at my level knowing these emotions from the start. Thank goodness we did well," Cvetkovic said.

"It will take psychological and physical stamina to succeed in reaching the highest level.

"Speaking of our goals, there are huge demands, you have to be up to it."

Zamalek will be seeking revenge as they succumbed to a 3-0 defeat to Mazembe on match-day one in DR Congo.
