World Sports Betting Western Province were decently placed at lunch on day two despite a mixed morning, as they reached the break on 151/5, trailing the Momentum Multiply Titans first innings by 74-runs, in their CSA 4-Day series clash at SuperSport Park in Centurion on Friday.

After bowling out the Titans on day one for 225 and reaching the close of play on 86/2, the visitors started the morning carefully, with Eddie Moore and David Bedingham (28) making very slow progress.

Having extended their third wicket stand to 17-runs, and crossed the hundred run mark, Moore was then the first wicket to fall on the day, bowled by Matthew Boast after taking 57 balls to score just six runs.

Bedingham and captain Kyle Verreynne (13) added 19 to the score, before Boast was back in the action, catching Verreynne off his own bowling to reduce Province to 122/4.

George Linde (7no) and Bedingham then tried to take their side safely to lunch, but on the stroke of the break Bedingham’s careful innings came to it’s end as he edged Junior Dala to keeper Lhuan-dre Pretorius.

Province are still slightly on top, but the Titans know they have opened the door and an early wicket in the post lunch session would see them right back in the match.
