The Mamelodi Sundowns versus Orlando Pirates blockbuster headlines the DStv Diski Challenge New Year's Fixture as the league resumes this weekend.

The clash is scheduled at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Sunday morning (10am).

The Buccaneers would be looking to start the year on a high after losing their last two matches before the Christmas break, while Masandawana , on the other hand, would be looking to extend their unbeaten run to nine matches in a row.

A victory for Sundowns would see them match Stellenbosch with 29 points at the top. The two sides will face each other for the first time this season. Last season, the two met twice, and Sundowns won their home leg, and Pirates also won their home round.

With the league slowly shaping up, the result of this match will go a long with in the respective clubs title aspirations. Sundowns are heading to this match sitting third on the log with 26 points from 12 matches. Pirates are occupying the eighth spot with 19 points from same number of matches.

Defending champions Stellenbosch FC, are currently leading the log with 29 points from 13 matches. Stellies are travelling to the capital City for their away clash against SuperSport United on Saturday at Lucas Moripe Stadium (10am).

Second-placed Kaizer Chiefs host on form TS Galaxy at Dobsonville Stadium on Saturday at noon.

A win for Amakhosi will see them reaching 30 points and could top the log depending on Stellenbosch FC's result against SuperSport.

In other matches, Marumo Gallants host Golden Arrows at CUT Stadium on Saturday.

On Sunday, AmaZulu visit Cape Town City, Polokwane City host Chippa United and Sekhukhune United host Richards Bay FC at Isak Steyl Stadium. All Sunday matches kick off at 10am.
