Welcome everybody to our new feature called First Team Watch, where we will be tracking current Diski Challenge players' movement in and around the first team.

We will give you the lowdown on promotions, call-ups to first-team training, making the first-team match day squad and everything that's got to do with their progress towards the elite division.

In-form striker Jerome Karelse made Mamelodi Sundowns' match-day squad against TS Galaxy on Tuesday, while Orlando Pirates' rock-solid centre-back Ndumiso Ngiba is currently training in Mayfair as opposed to Randburg.

Here is our first take…enjoy

Stellenbosch FC

Mervin Boji – Boji, who has been juggling Diski and First team, had an impressive week as he scored his first PSL goal in their 4-1 defeat to Orlando Pirates.

The 19-year-old striker will continue leading his team attack in a Cape Town derby when they face Cape Town City FC. Boji is among the Diski Challenge top scorer with nine goals in his name, one adrift of leading Jerome Karelse.

SuperSport United

Maseko continued his impressive performance when he played 77 minutes on Sunday when SuperSport United drew 1-1 with Richards Bay FC.

Neo Rapoo was an unused substitute and will be hoping to get more minutes when they face Swallows FC as he continued training with the first team this week.

Mamelodi Sundowns

Jerome Karelse: After impressive exploits over the weekend, scoring a brace and providing an assist when Sundowns beat Orlando Pirates 4-2, Karelse was drafted into the club's first team. He was on the bench on Tuesday when they played against TS Galaxy. So far this season, he has scored ten goals in the Diski Challenge.

Kaizer Chiefs

Aden McCarthy trained with the first team but played for the Diski side last weekend. This week McCarthy continued training with the first team as they prepare to face Royal AM in a league match.

Orlando Pirates

Cassius Spandiel, Ndumiso Ngiba, Syabonga Ndlozi and Sonwabo Khumalo have been and are still training with the first team.

Swallows FC

Thandolwethu Ngwenya, Phelelani Mvelase and Ian Makaringe were all on the first-team bench in Swallows match. On Sunday, they featured in the Diski Challenge and helped the reserves Swallows beat reigning champions Stellenbosch 2-1.

AmaZulu FC

Syanda Khumalo (goalkeeper), Tebogo MashigoLindani Shange are also training with Usuthu's first team.

Richards Bay FC, Cape Town City FC, Royal AM, Maritzburg United, Chippa United, Sekhukhune United, Marumo Gallants and Golden Arrows; there has been nothing to report on them yet.
