Could Mamelodi Sundowns DStv Diski Challenge team be a force to be-reckoned with this season?

It might still be early, but the Young Brazillians are seem to be getting gtheir momentum in the reserve league and pause serious threat to their opponents.

After seven matches, Sundowns remain unbeaten in the league. They seem to be following in the footsteps of their senior team, which is a team to beat in the DStv Premiership.

This past weekend, The Young Brazilians brushed aside Polokwane City 5-2 to open a three points gap between them and second placed Orlando Pirates.

Sundowns did not have the best start as they dropped points in their opening matches, where they drew 1-1 with SuperSport United and a goalless draw against Golden Arrows.

However, their coach Themba Badela, seems to have found the winning formula as they have now gone five consecutive matches without dropping any points.

That impressive run saw them dethroning Kaizer Chiefs at the top last weekend, and on Saturday, they went all the way to open a three points gap after both Chiefs and Pirates dropped points.

Mzwekhaya Nkonxeni, Kutlwano Letlhaku, Onele Rulwana, Keabetswe Ramotsei and Pule Manya were all in the scoresheet when they mopped the floor with Polokwane City.

Soweto giants on the flip side they flopped as they both drew to give Sundowns a luxury of opening a gap. Chiefs drew 1-1 with Moroka Swallows while Pirates were also held to a one all draw by plucky Sekhukhune United.

The draw left Pirates second on the log with 14 points, same as third placed Chiefs. A superior goal difference is what separates the two sides.

Impressive Sekhukhune occupy the fourth spot with 13 points, they are yet to lose a match so far this season.
