Chiefs trash Arrows as Stellies return to top

Kaizer Chiefs returned to winning ways in style as they brushed aside Golden Arrows 4-0 in the DStv Diski Challenge (DDC).

Senior players such as Nkosana Mbuthu, Ntandoyenkosi Nkosi and Naledi Hlongwa showed leadership qualities with a top-class performance, which saw Amakhosi return to winning ways.

Hlongwane scored a brace for Chiefs while the other two goals were scored by Kabelo Nkgwesa and Mbuthu.

The result saw Amakhosi move to the second spot on the log with 39 points, two behind Stellenbosch FC who claimed the top spot after beating Polokwane City 1-0 on Sunday.

DDC reigning champions Stellenbosch moved to the top of the table following their 1-0 victory over Rise and Shine.

Langelihle Phili scored the only goal of the match in the second half after the two sides played to a dull goalless draw in the first half.

The result will be a big boost to Stellies who have vowed to make history by becoming the only team to have won DDC three times.

Magesi 1-3 Orlando Pirates

Spahamandla Msezane continued with his fine form, scoring a brace to ensure the Pirates got the maximum points against Dikwena Tsa Metse.

Mbekezeli Mbokazi scored the third goal for the Pirates.

The victory saw Pirates climbing to sixth sport in the DDC table.
