The 2023/24 DStv Diski Challenge Golden Boot race is heating up.

Ntonelo Bomelo | 14 – The Richards Bay talisman has found the back of the net 14 times this season and his scoring spree saw him being promoted to the first team last month. The lanky striker penned a long-term deal with the club. He is only four goals from matching last season's Golden Boot winner Mervin Boji who won it with 18 goals.

Neo Bohloko | 12 – At the age of 16, Bohloko has proven to be one of the most lethal in front of goal this season.

The youngster finished the first round of the season with only two goals in his name. However, since the resumption in January, he has been in hot form. It looks like the break is what he needed as he came back more rejuvenated.

In seven matches since the beginning of the year, Bohloko has scored an impressive 10 goals and that leaves his second with 12 goals to his name. And at this rate, it looks like he won’t stop anytime soon as he did not score only once this year when they lost 1-0 to SuperSport United. With 11 games remaining, there’s more to expect from the 16-year-old.

Mohau Nkota | 10 – The promising attacker has carried Orlando Pirates in so many accessions this season. His most memorable matches could be the one against Mamelodi Sundowns where he scored twice and last weekend against Royal AM.

His fine form saw him being rewarded with a call-up to the first team by coach Jose Riveiro. Nkota is expected to carry The Buccaneers as they hope for a third time-lucky in the title race.

Thabang Mahlangu | 9 – This is another player who is slowly reaping the rewards of being consistent. Mahlangu who helped SuperSport United win the title last season has nine goals in his name. Midweek he made his senior team debut when SuperSport United came from a goal down to secure a point against Cape Town City FC.

Thabang Makubo | 8 – Makubo has picked up his form this season, and he's been a major part of SuperSport United. He has been scoring crucial goals that helped the club climb the log from unimpressive 13th spot to seventh, where they are at the moment.
