TS Galaxy continued their unbeaten start to the DStv Premiership season after they played out to a goalless draw with Golden Arrows at the Princess Magogo Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Sead Ramovic's side struggled to make headway in the final third throughout the 90 minutes, but they managed to hold firm at the back to record their eighth point in four games.

The Rockets remain second in the league standings, two points behind Richards Bay, with Abafana Bes'thende climbing out of the relegation zone up to 14th place.

Arrows came into the clash having taken just one point from their opening three fixtures, while Galaxy were looking to maintain their impressive start to the new campaign.

The visitors would enjoy more of the ball in the first half, but they did very little with it and failed to register a single shot at goal before halftime.

Vusimuzi Vilakazi's troops created a few opportunities, with Melusi Buthelezi called into action twice in the latter stages of the half to keep his team in the contest.

The crowd had to wait until the 29th minute for the first attempt at goal as Nduduzo Sibiya tested Buthelezi with a shot from inside the area.

Pule Mmodi got the home supporters on their feet once more in the 36th minute when he forced Buthelezi into a save at his near post after a good delivery into the danger area eluded all the attacking players initially.

Lungelo Dube had the next sniff at goal two minutes later from a free-kick, but the midfielder could only steer his header wide of the right post.

The hosts continued to push for the opener after the restart and they saw appeals for a penalty waved away on 54 minutes after the ball appeared to hit an opposing player on the arm inside the box.

Mmodi threatened again on 70 minutes as Arrows launched a counterattack, although his shot was comfortably saved by Buthelezi, while Sibiya could only find the side-netting from an acute angle on 81 minutes after being picked out by Ryan Moon.

The Rockets finally fashioned their first chance two minutes later when Bernard Parker fired over from outside the area before the action switched to the other end as Moon failed to hit the target with a shot on the turn from range.

Mlungisi Mbunjana was presented with an opportunity to clinch victory for the Mpumalanga outfit in stoppage time, but the midfielder sent his free-kick over the crossbar as the two clubs settled for a share of the spoils.
