Black Leopards coach Dylan Kerr believes his side let a golden chance slip as they allowed Kaizer Chiefs to come from two goals down to draw 2-2 in their DStv Premiership clash at the FNB Stadium on Wednesday.

A brace from former Chiefs midfielder Ovidy Karuru had Lidoda Duvha 2-0 up in the first half, and in truth it might have been more as they wasted a number of opportunities to be out of sight by the break.

But fortunate goals from Nkosingiphile Ngcobo and Khama Billiat, which stemmed from Leopards defensive errors, allowed ailing Chiefs to snatch a point.

“At half-time, we've got a big football board in the dressing room and I've drawn a diagram where we going to lose this game," Kerr said.

"From a set-piece or if we give the ball away. And that's what happened. We gave the ball away. It was a schoolboy error. You can't just flick a ball blind expecting someone to be there and in the second half we didn't keep the ball as well as I knew we can do.

"I'm pleased with the effort the boys put in. But it's a lesson to be learned. We're building. We should have taken three points but we'll take a point away from home so I've got to be happy but not really.

“Dax [Andriamirado Andrianarimanana] has put them in this hell they're in with his transfers. I told him to keep the ball and stay busy. But he's given the ball away for the first goal.

"That's football. As coach you make decisions as coaches. Sometimes they work. I thought we were fantastic, especially when we were pressing Chiefs high."

Leopards stay second bottom with four points from six games, and next host Limpopo rivals TTM on Wednesday.
