Leopards coach Seema says Arrows win long overdue
Caretaker coach Lehlohonolo Seema praised his players for their belief after a surprise 2-1 away DStv Premiership victory over Lamontville Golden Arrows on Tuesday.
Fourth-placed Golden arrows were expected to brush aside their opponents, who came into the game bottom of the division, but a pair of Mohammed Anas goals gave the visitors the points.
“The energy has been there [in previous games], it is just that we have been letting ourselves down. I felt today we could have kept a clean-sheet, but once again we conceded a soft-goal from a back heel,” Seema said.
"But we will take these three points, it will go a long way, the players have been working hard and they can now taste victory. A lot of teams have come here and not taken any points, so I am happy for the players.
"The signs have been coming, but today we managed to do what we did not do against Baroka, which is score goals,” he added.
Veteran coach Kosta Papic will take charge of the side once his work permit is approved, and watched from the stands on Tuesday.
"Coach Papic has come in and we have worked nicely with him, I am always next to him at training and we are talking about what needs to be done. Today we did not change anything, but once his papers are there then he will be the coach, and he will lead me and [assistant] coach Morgan [Shivambu].
"We will take one game at a time, it [the win] has been long overdue, we have great spirit here, the dressing room is vibey. We were playing against a tough team, a team that is good. Nobody thought we would get the three points."
