TS Galaxy will have to turn their focus from Saturday’s Carling Knockout final to their battle in the basement of the DStv Premiership with two key matches still to play before the end of the year as they seek a top eight finish, said coach Sead Ramovic.

Galaxy lost narrowly 5-4 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in Saturday’s final against Stellenbosch at Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium.

“I think that we showed that we are fantastic team. I think that my players also showed that they deserve to get more attention, not only the three big clubs. And I believe that many of you will still be surprised,” Ramovic told reporters after the defeat.

“We will try again. But this is the desert, because our main course should be the league. And this is where we have to do everything we can to reach our goal to be in a top eight spot.

“It's not easy because you have fantastic teams in our league.”

Galaxy sit in 14th place in the DStv Premiership standings, with 15 points from 13 games. They will be back in Durban next Saturday to take on Lamontville Golden Arrows and then finish the year -- as well as reach the halfway mark of their league program – with a home match against Chippa United at Mbombela Stadium on December 30.

“We could make it easier for us and tell you guys that our goal is to stay in the league. But I didn't came here to stay in the league. I came here to reach some goals to get bigger and bigger and bigger.

“You can only reach this if you put a lot of hard work with a lot of great attitude guys around you. And this is what we have, but it's a process and we are on the right track,” Ramovic said of his side.
